P20 ON THE WATER
P20 - a vital crew member at
Cowes Week
Competitors at the most prestigious event in the sailing calendar were
given the opportunity to try P20 for themselves at Cowes last year. Sailors were offered
enough P20 to protect them from the sun for a day. P20 is so useful in sailing conditions.
Once applied it can be totally forgotten and it will carry on protecting from the
suns rays despite spray (or even an unfortunate ducking). Sailing and being out on
the water can cause severe burning in strong sunlight. P20 will be there again at
Cowes Week 2000. Visit Cowes Health Store in the High Street for your FREE SAMPLE
of P20 throughout Cowes Week 2000!
P20 rows from London to Paris
In May 1999 Jock Wishart led a squad of top British rowers an
extraordinary recording-breaking challenge. The squad rowed from central London, down the
River Thames to the estuary, across and along the English Channel and then up the River
Seine to central Paris.
The previous record for this amazing test of strength and stamina was set
in 1990 by a crew from the Metropolitan Police. Jocks team The CNA Maritime
Challenge Team undertook the 490 miles (772 kilometres) and smashed the
record by several hours.
Jock first heard about P20 when he was a crew member in the Cable &
Wireless Adventurer round-the-world, record-breaking voyage of 1998. The crew were
supplied with P20 then and Jock was so impressed he wanted to use P20 again for this new
record breaking challenge.
P20 was supplied to the London to Paris rowing crew to protect them on
this exciting challenge. Not only did the team break the record but they also raised a
considerable amount of money for charity. For more information and photographs of this
event, you can visit the CNA Maritime Challenge website: www.rowingrecord.co.uk
