What is P20?

Riemann P20 is a unique product which protects from sunburn but allows a golden tan to develop. It only needs to be applied once a day - but because it is different it is vital that the instructions for use are followed exactly (see later). P20 is non-greasy and fragrance free once dry so you no longer have to apply sticky sun preparations throughout the day.

What makes P20 different?

The active ingredient in P20 is PABA (p-aminobenzoic acid), which is a natural substance found in the human body - it is also known as Vitamin H. When P20 is applied to the skin, the p-aminobenzoic acid is absorbed and binds to the keratin in the skin, a process that takes 90 minutes. Amazingly P20 gives high protection (SPF 20) against the sun’s burning UVB rays but still lets through some UVA rays to allow you tan. Result - a golden tan without the burn. The protection factor (SPF) is an expression of how many times longer you can stay in the sun (following the correct instructions of a 90-minute waiting time) than if you had no protection.

How do I use P20?

Remember, P20 is not like other sun protection products and the instructions MUST be followed carefully

1. To use P20, apply each morning in an even layer to clean, dry skin, AT LEAST 90 minutes before exposure to sun or swimming. (Once absorbed, P20 retains 90% of its protection even after swimming.)
2. When applying P20, pay particular attention to the vulnerable areas such as the face (and nose) shoulders, shins, feet - and the top of the head if your hair is thinning.
3. Remember not to use any moisturiser, etc, before using P20 as it will stop the product binding to the keratin of your skin. Wait 90 minutes before applying makeup.
